Hey there! We are Chris and Mary Beth Wood!

We are a husband and wife Wedding Photography team based out of Macon, Georgia. We fell in love in 2007, and have been surprised to find that for us, love has grown in depth and richness. We have found that by giving each other grace upon grace, the benefit of the doubt, and seeing and pouring into the things that fill each other full, we couldn't help but fall more in love. Our hope is for each of our clients to experience this same depth of love for years after they say "I do."

Mary Beth Wood

I have always taken pictures, but really started when we had our first son, Jude in 2011. In 2016 people started asking me to take pictures for them, and what became a hobby, became an unexpected career. My heart has always been for raising my kids to be my first priority. We have three, Jude, Owen and Lyla.

When I'm not shooting, I am watercoloring, writing and reading, playing Minecraft with my kids, or sitting by our fire pit with friends. We love to go on traveling adventures every chance we get.

A little more? My college majors were in Religion and Sociology (Urban and Interracial relations) with a minor in Spanish. I have lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Arkansas, Illinois, California and Georgia.

Our Shooting Style

We always shoot a combination of posed and documentary. I affectionately call the posed images "grandma photos" because it's the sort of picture grandma would prefer to hang on her fridge. For the rest of the session we will help with a series of prompts and suggestions that facilitate playful interaction, and authentic smiles.

You've heard people say when having their picture taken "I need someone to make me laugh!" I believe that is part of the photographers job - to be the person who helps you to laugh.

We are not "dark and moody" or "light and airy." I would describe my editing style as being warm and rich. The most important thing to me is to shoot in a way that draws the viewers eye to the subject. I often choose settings that do this naturally. Greens are another thing that I am particular about. If you are in a field of grass in the spring, it is easy for the brightness of the green to take the attention off the subject. I always edit my greens in a way that will still be green, without distracting from you!

For weddings, we incorporate the same philosophy. To properly document a wedding day, it needs to be a combination of posed and prompted documentary. Much of what we do is making sure you are positioned in the best light, so that the posed and documentary happens in a well lit spot.

We currently are shooting with four Canon R5's, and in our kit we have two 70-200's, two 50's, two 24-70's, Macro 100, 85, 16-35.

Chris Wood

Chris has been shooting with me since 2020 when we had enough margin in our lives for him to learn. Since then he has been shooting alongside me at weddings.

If you've booked us for your wedding, he will be my second photographer.

When he's not shooting, he is a true Renaissance man. He enjoys woodworking, playing guitar and piano, reading, playing Minecraft with the rest of us, and sitting around our fire pit with our friends.

A little more? His undergraduate degree was in Christianity, and he has his Masters of Divinity, and Music from Baylor University.

"Mary Beth has been such a joy to work with! Ever since we reached out to her almost two years ago with a vision of our engagement and wedding photography, she has made our dreams a reality. She is so patient and kind, and is SO flexible. One of the things that drew us to her was her attention to detail, her eye for natural beauty and her natural style of photography. Her work is phenomenal and she always produces excellence. We are forever grateful for her and her creative abilities. She will always be our forever family photographer."
